Namakagon should be plenty good. I bet 5" ice at minimum out of the current area's.

1 1/2 inches in the Prairie du Chien area this morning had no ice on wednesday night before the storm. Is white ice been seems solid 3-4 hits with hatchet to get through.

Be careful crappy white ice is just frozen slush, no where near as strong as clear ice.

As long as it stays cold it should be building good ice underneath it.

I was worried about the ice so I went out to check a few lakes. They had gotten 1 – 2” of ice then we had 17” of show. Then a couple of inches of rain on top that. It turns out that caused all the ice\snow to sink and now we have good ice building. It was 12 degrees and I could hear ice being built as I walked out 100 yards. 6” of ice on Big round, 5” on Half moon, in Polk County.

I got out on a little over 3" near portage today for about 3 hrs. I was happy.

i am new to ice shanty but i am going to Madison tom and i was wanting to know if i could get some tips on where the ice is and if i could get a few tips on spots

Madison here, I was on Monona bay this afternoon and very dissapointed! 3" of ice, marking fish on the Vex like crazy, 3 little bites in 2.5 hours, no fish. Hopefully things will pick up!
Yikes, I expected the usual limit in an hour, will try elsewhere in the morning!

Does anyone know where to fish for White Fish on Trout Lake in Vilas Cty, Wisconsin. I have heard of many fishing it and having good luck, but its a large lake and don't know where to start to look for them. Any help would be great. Seems to be a big secret from all the locals and guides.
