41*, misty drizzle and believe the local ice season is history. Short term forecast is not good for making decent ice anytime soon

Hilarious that people would whine to have a thread taken down that is all weather reports.  Like any thread, if you don't enjoy it, don't click on it.  Just as simple as how to evade a train trying to kill you,   take a step to the side.
      34 and very windy.

No doubt it was meant to be taken as a joke, thats how I read it anywho and seems like most others did to. Seemed simple.:)

32 and windy as all get out herr in S.E. MI.

Get cold nights and some of the lakes should hold up, with luck.

20 degrees here in the Cedar Rock swamp.  This week last year I was on the Betsie in neoprenes and a tee-shirt sweating my *$$ off.

Global Cooling went out of style around 30yrs ago. Icefishing Thanksgiving to Easter, blizzards dropping 3'- 4' of snow overnight and the ice was 30"- 40+" thick,  maybe next year  ::)

I hear you.   I grew up in the Gun Lake area and the lake I lived on always got 16 inches of ice or more.  When I was in school in the late 70's, it was common for car and trucks to drive on the lake.  This year that lake made it to about 10 inches and that is the most I can remember in a long time.  It was common to be able to get on the ice over Thanksgiving break and we always fished into April.  You could actually ride a snowmobile all winter without ever having to haul it north.

I am not as seasoned as you gents but I remember some times in the 80's and just back in the mid 90's fishing from Nov 25th-April 16th.  Remember drilling 42" of ice on Higgins mid april and spuding the remaining because we didnt have enough length.  Havent had my truck out on the ice in about 4 years now.
22 degrees.

http://www.gulllakeiyc.org/history3.html Was plenty of fun on Gull fishing for pannies along the edges and watching these things whizzing by. Some wrecks were spectacular, caught some monster Perch during the championships

My buddy's dad had an ice boat.  He used to race it, but I don't know if he took it to Gull.  I took many a spin across the glare ice.  A 15 mile/hr wind and you are flying!

Back to the subject...I fished this morning and it was a cold 20 degrees.  Had to keep my gloves on due to the wind.  25 degrees here now.  Ready for steel, but guess I'll be on the ice for another week or two for sure.
