Curlew lake has some ice but pretty open, new underwood lake was full of ice but dont think it would be safe, Cheyenne River went catfishing-no bites.  Water running in certain spots but pretty much ice.

Working in the greater metro Keystone area today so decided to go out and do some "area familiarization". Horsetheif is open almost completely except of an area of about 15 feet by the parking lot down below. Lakota is almost completely frozen over. There's an inch or two of ice all the way from the inlet to the face of the dam. Open water runs along the north shore from the cattails to the spilllway. Fellas coming back from fire assignment last night said they "looked for a good water supply" and said Deerfield Ice took a little hit with the warm weather this weekend and then the wind the past couple of days but it's coming along. Newton Fork, Major, and Mitchell all have ice but not good ice. Forecast shows a cooling trend so let's all cross our fingers. A little more ice fishing season and a little less wildland fire season would make us all happy.

Did I pass u white Tundra coming outta  Lakota?  If so I should have followed you to Stockade.  Really wanted to fish.  I assumed rest of the hills was same.  Wonder if Deerfield got fished then too.

Be careful out there.  Ice isn't ideal, but fishable.  Snotslayer, were you in the blue ford truck at stockade?

Yea that was me out by the inlet, the ice was pretty sketchy out there, it would be 4in then youd walk about 10ft then its 2in at most. Caught a few northerns so wasnt a total waste. Thats a nice mess of fish you got there!! Were you guys by the picnic area? What was the ice like there.

Is that 13 perch short of a 3 man limit or 2 perch over a 2 man limit?

Curlew was 3/4 full of ice, but not fishable yet.  I poked through pretty easy.  Didnt go out to far.  New Underwood Lake not quite ready either.  I would think all lakes if we stay this could should be good to go for next weekend.  Not willing though to pull the
4 wheeler on yet

Be careful at Curlew...It was wide open and good rollers on Saturday, The way the prevaling wind drives toward the dam will make that portion of the lake trecherous.

First, let me say that God is good and how fortunate I am to live where I do and have the job I have that affords me the opportunity to wander about as much as I do. What a beautiful day and what an amazing attitude adjustment. I only fished for an hour, I only caught one 12" Rainbow, but man did I need it. I found 4-5" of ice on Roubaix but since I was by myself I didn't want to take any unnecessary risks. I bounced around a little and ended up at Dalton. Cut a hole with a Pulaski to see how thick the ice was. Tape said 5". Grabbed a rod and fished for an hour. Caught one little 'Bow, watched the beautiful snow fall, and fixed my attitude. Can't wait until Thursday or Friday. Going to go again.

Has anyone been up to Deerfield? I was think of hitting it up  on Friday but I just wanted to see if there is fishable ice. If there isn't I will go to Stockade. I just would like to get some perch without worms.
