I have found that the fish tend to school in class size. So if your catching dinks that's all you'll get unless you move or they do.

Small eyes in the fall late winter come in the dozens for sure. Catch more then 4 or 5 small ones, and I'm off to drill holes elsewhere.

We don't fish LML to often mostly Dief in the summer and have had horrible winter fishing there maybe now with a flasher that might change.

I'm looking for access points to the lake, besides Regina beach, Alice and Sarnia are there any other spots on the West side?

I can read the Bathymaps and am not scared to go for much of a walk.  I don't want your fishing spots just access points to the lake.

Thanks

Ok I will ask no more questions, I will just post results.

Is there typically an evening bite?  The times we have gone out first thing was great and tapered off, have never had a chance to stay till dusk.

Thanks for the replys and Pm's

Mornings and evening are the best but it also really depends on the time of year. You get out on first ice in Dec. and the bite can be awesome all day long.  Given the right day on first ice and guys can catch 30..40 walleye on Last Mountain with very good odds of breaking 10 lbs. I know guys last year early ice had back to back 12 lb eyes... I could only dream of that happening to me  :o

Only walleye bite at night on LML where I ever do good is if I'm moving around a lot until you find them. Have had great nights both soft and hard water on this lake but have had to cover a lot of water to find them.

First trip of the year was a great success. First time i ever fished where i did and I'm glad my bro and i made the decision! Caught a bunch of perch in the 8 to 11 inch range, the size of walleye we caught sure made up for it on 2 fish under 2lbs!

I havent been up that far but I havent seen anything other than the odd ATV driving on the west side, as Clayton mentioned there are still spots under the snow where the ice is only 5-6 inches so its not worth taking chances just yet, its still early in the season.

It was a slow, cold weekend on the mountain.. just when you think you've got it all figured out this lake can throw you a serious curve ball.

Not sure whats up on the east side but theres lots of shacks and trucks moving around, might have to head that way this weekend to explore it for myself as nobody is saying much. Is anybody doing well on that side?

Fished at Sorenson and we couldn't take our eyes off our flashers.  Caught 10-15 eyes and 10 good eating size perch in 4 hours. 24 FOW

Collingwood has a good 12 -14" and the driving was good on Sunday, not too sure after today's snow - either they got it up there or they didn't.
The problem with quotes on the internet is that they're difficult to prove.

Was straight out from the dock and it was good no heaves at all.  I walked out because I didn't think my truck would make it onto the ice due to the snow.

Fished just north of Grandview Up to Wee-Too beach today with the quad....she was fricken cold but well worth the effort. Had about 30 walleye, 2 burbot, 5 jack and 1 perch. No big walleye, was lucky to get a big eye yesterday with the Miller Boys. Lake really got hot at about 4:30 pm. Non stop thick red bars on the FL-22  ;D
There still are spots with 6 inches of ice, especially where drifts have formed. Wouldnt recommend driving the west side yet.

Cheers!!
