Hey wiggly, ya need to put some refridgerant coils in that there lake of yours, so i can come down and do a lil hole drillin this year, been a bad year for me for soft water fishing, so i'm hopeing things slow down a bit so i can get back to some fishing.

FIRST TIME SINCE APRIL.MY BUDDY STARTED THINKING ABOUT ICE SEASON A MONTH AGO.NOW I GOTS THE BUG.HOPE WE GET EARLY ICE SO WE HIT THE PERCH RUN.IT DIDNT HAPPEN LAST YEAR.I MANNAGED ABOUT 10 TRIPS OUT.I LIKE ICE IN DECEMBER.ALWAYS DO GOOD ON PERCH AT THAT TIME.GOT TO KEEP OUR FINGERS CROSSED.

Nope, don't think so, just because I'm giving my tip-ups four coats of polyurathane, painting a few small chips in the paint on my auger bit, waxing the auger bit, and putting reflective tape on the tip-ups doesn't mean anything.

I just saw on WNEP 16 that they read the Farmer's Almanac and said the winter is going to be, "blustery, wet, snowy, and cold" Now I'm not sure what in blazes why or were the wet part is supposed to mean but I sure like the blustery, snowy, and cold parts. Anyone see any woolie bugges yet? I was always told the more black the worse, well in our case the better, the winter will be. Fingers crossed and hoping Old Man winter wants revenge for last year.

Just stopped in to see if anyone else was thinking about ice. Guess I'm not the only "crazy" one on here!!! have noticed a lot of trees have already started to change. That happened this early 2 years ago, and we had a great ice season. Hopefully the trend continues! I have had a really productive soft water season, but I'm ready to hit the ice.

Ya should be up here Roy, been in the 40's here, lowest I had last week was 42 on Tuesday morning.

The great lakes may get some snow this weekend, with the cold front coming through. That's a good sign that things are right around the corner.

Well with archery comming in last saturday we can do some baggin and taggin. That should keep us from going crazy until we get some ice. Its GOT to be better than last year, eh

It keeps trying but its supposed to get back up in the 70's again by tommorro. It needs to cool back down, the deer are even slow in that weather, other than 1 doe, all i have seen is squirrels and turkey.

Been lurking around the last couple weeks....already started assembling gear....purchased some new stuff too.....I am ready to be ready when it is time to be ready ! Lots of woolyBears this fall....a lot of brown on them...all it means is that they are younger....how about acorns? you guys seeing a lot of acorns ?

My weather channel alert is going off for a freeze watch until 9AM on Saturday. Also the Kurt Aaron is saying the same thing on 16 but he's also saying back into the mid 60s for highs during the week but the lows are in the mid to upper 40s and low 50s.

I had 23 degrees at my house this AM after sun-up (around 7:00 am). It was the 3rd or 4th time I had to scrape the windows of the avalanche this fall already.

I have been seeing tons of acorns this year so Im hoping that means there will be more venison to be served o the ice this year.
