upgraded from a QFII to a Frabill Ranger XL.  teh sled is about a foot wider and the i have about another 6-8" of headroom.  hated the bench seat.

have also fished in a Clam FishTrap and that was nice as well.

I have a Trap Scout in which I removed the flip up seat & rail system and installed a Kenai bench seat.  I also have the new Frabill Trekker Max which is essentially a Trekker tent installed on the new Trekker hard top shuttle base.  I've only had it out once so far, but I really like it.

I started with the Clam Command post 6x12 hub. It does the trick and is plenty roomy. Packs really light, can fit in any car or truck with ease. It's a bit daunting in heavy winds to set-up and stay positioned. Not quite as mobile as I would have liked when you decide to change spots...so...

I bought an Eskimo Eskape 300 at the end of last season. I like it a lot and don;'t see myself using the old one unless we have a large crew come along that we need the extra space. The only drawback is how heavy it is compared to other flip overs. I want to say its 120 lbs. The poles system is fantastic and very heavy duty though. The material is heavy duty as well and has great window and door features. I love the bench seat with underneath storage and the option to have 3 seats or a table is very nice as well.
Why?
....Because I can't can't Golf with Ice on the lake!

Picked up a Eskimo Fatfish 949i for this season. Sweet shelter. It is replacing an older shappel cabin style shelter that was not really portable.

Clam fish trap.  I agree with earlier post that the poles are made of thin wall aluminum.

Had one bend in some modest wind , took it to a boat canopy shop and had it replaced with thicker walled poles.  Thinking about replacing them all this summer.

I'm using the Eskimo Fat Fish 949. Easy up. Easy Down. And feels like a mansion with three guys in it.

I roll out with a Frabil Trekker 2. I have a Hardside iceshack when the ice is good enough.
Work should not be so pressing as to prevent a day's fishing through the ice.

Shappell 6000.  Still in the honeymoon phase but love it so far.  Easy up and down.  Plenty of room.  Anchors by hand are tough but manageable.  Plenty of options to fix that.

bring a cordless drill and pre-drill the anchor holes. makes set up sooooo much faster and easier.

Clam guide with the second seat removed. Good shelter but too short. I would like a little more head room.

Clam Nanook. So far I love it. I live in PA so I gotta drag it by hand most times, actually liked The frabill a little better but clam was lighter

Clam Yukon.  Plenty of room for 2 and the seats are great.  My only complaint is it's a little heavy so dragging it across the lake can be a chore.

i have the same problem  with my clam 6800 it doesnt pull well at all, and theres not enough ice to drive out on.
if theres no snow on the ice it pulls fine but any amount of snow...forget about it.
