I heard that too, and yes Santa is fake, or hes drunk and doing the Mrs. and is uninterested in giving us what we want!

Was on Wood Creek on Wednesday afternoon. I measured 3" but it was real brittle. I would like to thank the jerks who thought it was a good idea to leave their trash on the ice. But I got my first catch through the ice I think it counts I had to drill a hole and use a jigging rod.

I haven't fished Wood Creek before and may head up tomorrow or Saturday, are their any typical spots that you should be aware of from a standpoint of safety on early ice or that you noticed yesterday ?

I would suggest bringing a boat and some rods with you. That way you can still spend the day fishing when you find out there is no safe ice left in CT.

Thanks Matt. That's real comforting. Like a warm fire on a cold night.

Between last nights monsoon and tonights coming monsoon, my long weekend is likely toast.
Screw Christmas and this lousy weather.

Sorry for the bad news. I didn't check wood creek because that's just a waste of gas even when there is ice, but I can tell you nobody is fishing for pike through the ice in CT this weekend.

Took the ride up today to see how the ice did after the rain yesterday/last night. Stopped at winchester first, open water as far as i could see from the launch. headed up to woodcreek next, maybe 1" 1-1/4" of ice, with the edges open all around. Was hoping to get out this weekend, not gonna happen until next week sometime atleast. Its supposed to be cold at night for the next 10 days or so, just pray for no more rain!!

Thankya for the text today Matt. You sir are the lemonade stand!  ;D

Round 2 is coming soon fellas. Sigh...
The radar last night looked like a summer cold front barging through and acted like it to. About 11PM all hell really broke loose here. Thunder, lightning, and downpours that rival anything I've seen during the summer.

Was really hoping to get out this long weekend since I don't have squat planned, but oh well.
