Regular fly reels will work in below freezing temps.  Afterall there are those that fly fish streams that don't freeze over.
For more information read my MN nice journal

Best bang for your buck IMO. The are light and have great drags. The clicker is really easy to remove also. They have free shipping and you can enter this code to get an extra 10% off: AVG4247

Got my Quest 2 in the mail and put it on one of my SC legend ML rods. The way the reel fits in your hand is a lot more comfortable than a spinning reel.Looking forward to putting it to good use as soon as we get some ice!!!!!Thanks for the tip!

You guys who like the 2/3 SLV's... check out the 4/5's.
I ran one of each for a year then picked up two more of the 4/5s. They feel nicer in the hand(to me) and pick up line at a much quicker rate.
I checked out the straight line combo. Kinda nice but I wish they had put a little more into a nicer drag and made a larger size for longer rods...

Hi, I'm new to this site. This is my first post.

I'm waiting for my custom ice fly rod from TB (see pix). I have a Sage Click Fly Reel DT0 and this thing is a clicker. I don't want to destroy a $$$ reel so anyone know if its possible to remove the clicker?

I don't believe in name brands, only quality and what works!
