Just one more point on this. I checked with my local stores and they carry alott of AMSOIL oil, mostly synthetic, no SABER. Will any AMSOIL work?also.... Can I mix synthetic oil/gas into the tank that currently holds regular oil/gas form last year? Or do I have to bleed/run all old oil out and start fresh?Regards..
I run 100:1 Amsoil Saber in my Jiffy and it's two years old.I used to run 40:1 jiffy oil, if you aren't using a synthetic, you want to stay close this ratio.
Not to change topic from Jiffy, but does this also applies to strike master as well? I normally use the pre-mix bottle 40:1 in my 2000, but after the reviews im considering amsoil 100:1 or 75:1.
anybody know any places in southern ontario (Toronto, GTA ) that sells amsoil saber? Man I love Canada, land of 'can't find a gosh darn thing', regulated to death.
so at 80:1 ratio, how many ounces of amsoil is that for a gallon of gas???
1.28 Here is a handy little calculator for figuring this stuff out. http://www.csgnetwork.com/oilfuelcalc.html
I gotta chime in on this one. This is a very familiar topic of discussion. I built and maintained 2 stroke motocross engines for my boys for 20 years. When 2 stroke synthetic oils started to become popular, everyone wanted to know how much they could get away with. I heard so many guys bragging about using 70:1, 80:1 mix ratios and later watching them push the bike back to the pits after smoking a crank. I agree that the synthetic oils are superior but for the amount of oil that you will use in the course of a season, why take achance with extreme mix ratios. Unless the motor is bogging or fouling plugs from excessive oil, I gotta say stick with manufacturers recomendations. Just my 14 cents.
