Permanent shack (my winter house) and a portable
2 power augers and a hand auger
2 spears
Unknown amount of decoys
20+ tip ups
10-15 rod/reel combos
underwater cam flasher
3 heaters
I'm guessing some where on the north end of 3,000 at the end of it all

just getting back into it after 20 years... Ithink I've bought about 600 dollars worth this year, chisle, flasher, camera, poles, portable shanty, and jigs.....  I prefer to think of it instead of dollars as in the amount of overtime it took me to save it up.  This is about two twelve hour shifts for me...

Good post. I figure if ya love it do it, don't let a little thing called money get in your way. It is sad that money controls our lives ( and wives try to) lol.   you can't put a price on happiness.   If it makes you happy and eases the stress that life brings, you should continue to do it no matter how much it costs.  I don't want to add it all up because sharing the experience of ice fishing with friends and family and carrying on the traditions with your little ones, and being happy, is PRICELESS.  Just wish we could get some ice ;D

Impossible to price it all out.
I did just drop $10,000 on a new snowmachine. Spent $8,000 on my other one 3 years ago but with the new girlfriend who likes to fish I just had to buy another.
Eskimo grand caravan shanty $700
3 power augers ,vex fl20, rods ,tip ups.....
Boy it adds up fast. But worth every penny!
