Nice job CP,I think I am going to do the same thing and make
1 thread for all my pics and the 2011 season.I got out for a whole
15 minutes today and caught 4 keepers,I didnt have a camera
so I will have to remember to put 1 in the truck.

Hey thats not a bad start...

If you bring a camera try and keep it on you like on an inside pocket that way it stays warm if it get cold for too long it will kill the battery. Have had it happen to me many times lol...

i cant wait to do some fishing next weekend I'm so pumped!  ;D
I caught a fish once!

Made it out Sunday with my good fishin buddy and after  moving around and drilling about 30 holes I finally put a few fish on the ice and then the two of us got into em' pretty good for a bit.

Nothing major but man was I happy to get into some fish finally.

My vex finally on the ice!  ;D

My buddy had a "small" tangle that put him out of commission for a little bit.

Pretty nice gill.

Theres what we ended up with for the morning.

CP it is a good thing there is no ice near your Army Base! I suspect that if there was you would fish it out in no time! What a fishing machine. Keep up the hooking and glad you got to return home for some ice.

RL theres been some skim ice on the ponds down here in TN but its usually gone in a day or two. Days like today where its 55 dont help that lol.

I'll be back soon to try for some more gills!

Well me and my dad finally made it out together! There was 4 inches of crystal clear ice. It was creepy walking out there. There was no water on top of the ice either. It was making ice the entire night and by the time we left there was about a half inch of snow on the ice. The wind was blowing so hard that I had to secure the shanty sled with 2 ice anchors one on each side and then once we got it set up I had to use 2 more in the bront to keep the flip all the way down on the ice. It was good to go once we got that taken care of! Plenty warm with the lantern and the heater going.

Hard to see but my dad snagged one! Its about 3 inches of the green depth finder on his jacket.

First one of the year for me!

They started moving in. See the green light under the ice in front of the vex. COOL!

The most important thing to remember when your fishing is to stay hydrated!

His new years resolution obviously wasnt to quit...

Man I look kinda jacked up...this was a lull in the action. Me and dad!

Heres where things start getting interesting!

Smelt head spring bobber anyone?

Click this. Its the 2011 video of me biting the head off of a smelt for the second year in a row! LOL

The ice was so clear and the smelt were so close to the top of the ice we could watch them swimming around under us. Watching them was beyond words. There was literally THOUSANDS under us. My camer is waterproof so I stuck it down the hole and this is what I ended up with.

Final tally - 243!
I caught a fish once!

Great pictures CP.....Looks like your dad and you had a great time together.  How late did you stay?  Did the bite ever slow down?

Ya know the funny thing is that I didnt even put that burn hole there! My dads buddy did that just last week on Gull lol...Ehh I dont mind though I'm just glad someones enjoying it while I'm gone.

We got there at about 5:30 and things started out a little slow then it pick up at probably 6:30 and we caught them consistantly the entire time. We left at 11:00 and they were still biting. There was thousands right under us it was insane I couldnt believe how many we could see through the ice.

Fished Hardy the first couple days I was home. We were after walleyes. Caught a couple shortys a few perch and crappies and I lost a nice eye right at the top of the hole!!!

Fished Houghton the begining of the first week I was back. Rained pretty much all day. Fishing was pretty slow but we managed a few pike and some dink perch. It was a good time. Grilled lunch out on the ice.

Couple days after the Houghton trip I fished Gull for smelt with my dad and my uncle. We did really well. Not really any good pictures of the fish or anything. I did get a video of me biting the head off my first one of the year for the 3rd year in a row. Ill try and get that up soon.

Didnt do much fishing but had a great time while I was home. Got a lot of work done on the boat soo it should be good to go when I get back.
