Theres a few places I checked with 4" but I didn't check either of the lakes you mentioned...I know I didn't see any ice on Hopac I'd venture out on but I didn't drive around the lake either...I know there was white caps on the main lake though which is never a good sign for ice $:-\$

what lakes had for ices on them if you dont mind me asking

i have ice. i have seen guys fishing on ice. and i haven't even fired up my auger yet... or put together my shanty $:-\$ I BETTER GET MOVING!!

4 groups of guys fishing in Woodport Lake Hopatcong today I found 4" inches around the Yacht Club,but did not fish.

I'm going out tomorrow for the first trip of the year...plan on being at dows by 730 and on the ice somewhere soon after...might try a small private pond first then maybe check out woodport or somewhere in Sparta next.

More ice around. Everything I checked over 900ft and under 10acres was locked in. 2-6 inches but not makeing much ice under the snow.

It's colder then last year. We have some ice if your not waiting for 6inches. Anyway it's just 2 warm days that'll melt/slush the snow that'll refreese soon after. Heres hoping for cold windless nights.

I may die of cabin fever before we get 5 or 6 inches. In the past I've been pretty cautious, but I was out on the Watergate Pond last March with 3 1/2 and it felt like it could have been asphalt.

Fished Steenykill in High Point today, not much action only 2 pickerel (12") and a Lg Mth (14"). There was about 3.5 to 5 inches of ice around the boat launch area.

Nope never tried it. Spend a lot of time on Highland Lakes in Vernon though.

Still no gas in my auger yet either...but I'm and optimist and looking past this rain to the ice on the rivers...dragging the auger down into some of em just isn't any fun

No gas in my auger yet either Gary....hunting has been keeping me busy, hopeful to get out soon, i checked the batteries on my Icegator today and am waiting to go.. This rain is going to F it up for just a bit im sure

FHW those lakes are private in Vernon & parking is a issue. After the recent weather its not safe too much open water..

Took a ride around to check out the damage caused by yesterday's big rain

Cranberry, Musky, and parts of Hopatcong still have ice (and water) on top, so not too much damage.

with the cold weather forecasted for the next few days, all should be good by middle to end of next week.
