Mmm...let's see if I scare me.

New Jiffy: $508
old jiffy:     200
HT shelter: 300
tipups:       200
ice rods:     350
sleds:         150
fish finder:   250
misc. gear
tackle:        200
Total        $2,158

Wholly Cow!
Ok now the other evil addiction:
22 pistol     $375
22 rifle         200
243 rifle       500
357 pistol     400
shot gun      300
other gear
misc. press   500
total:         $2,275

annual days spent hunting average:       5
annual days spent ice fishing average:   29

Pounds of deer, antelope, etc.    70(?)
pounds of fish meat:                 100(?)

Just wild guessing,  ice fishing is not as expensive on gear as I would have thought considering total hobby costs, fuel, days of recreational value, and what I bring home to eat.

OOps, the big one, bragging about one big buck is a story that wears out fairly fast,
fish stories are made each time I go out on the ice. Value:  PRICELESS!

well, pike and walleye, the lake to hit would be otsego lake,  try off of the points near the campground on the east side, arbutus beach (also on the east side) and wauwausau (wahwahsoo) .................all these spots are just off of old 27.   as for crappies at night, try big lake about 100 yards south east of the launch in 20+ fow..........that's where i did my best at last year.   shoot me a message when ya get ready to come up this way and maybe we can get out on the ice then..........

I just spent 800 on a 44 mag that I probably wont use for deer season this year, not that I don't want to, but deer season hasn't been kind to me the last couple years.  It's still an awesome gun and I won't give it up for anything.

lets see how bad I can hurt myself here.

strikemaster lazermag 10" - $350
vexlar fl-12 duel beam - $400
clam yukon - $325 got for a steal from gander
6 HT rods $10-$20 a piece - $90
6 HT UL reels $5-$15 a piece - $50
4 polar tip-ups $10 a piece - $40
4 beaver dam tip-ups $30 a piece - $120
Tackle bag - $35
Coleman duel fuel lantern - $50
Coleman heater/cooker - $45
20# propane pig - $38
extention hose - $25
skimmer - $25
tackle Conservative est - $200
line Conservative est - $100
misc extras (creepers, lighters, spikes, spud bar, etc) - $200

About $2100 not bad for only fishing for 5 years. but add in the other things like fuel and bait. I would have to guess about $1000 a year for propane and White gas and minnows. Then figure every thing else in that would hurt alot I need to stop here befor I need to go to the doctor for a heart attack.
thats the biggest smelt i've ever seen

well, If it weren't for the fresh fish, high cholesterol, if not for fishing being relaxing (when fishing, not catching) one would have hypertension. If not time spent on the ice....would be in a bar, or leering at strange women around town, and dropping at least the same if a whole lot more cash.
Way I figure, ice fishing is a healthy and financial bargain~considering the alternatives...hot rods, travel as a hobby, public life.
Keep up the good work.
I used to fish Brush Creek, and a couple of other off the beaten path lakes near Atlanta each June when the trout and bluegills were hot.

Never really mattered to me. Just not worth adding it all up since I may find I haven't spent enough yet.
Since this was originally about how much $$ you have in your Jet Sled I'll give a list...

Vex FL18
Lazer mag
6" Mora
Nils spud
+12 rods and reels
Large Jet sled
who knows how many lures
and more memories and frineds then one can count

I see no need to drag my Guide, heater, other rods, camera, heater, and all the other stuff with me if I am just using the sled. Some of you guys must really weight down your sleds carrying all the other stuff in them  :)
