I'm building my first shack also. I like seeing creativeness. Mine is basically big and will be comfy. My next one will have more character!

A buddy of mine reminded me to screw/bolt down the stove so it doesn't move when you move your palace. Don't forget, if your pipes are all hooked up then any stove movement will mean pipe movement. I'll caulk around pipe/wall when the shack is in it's final spot :-)

I like photos !

Here is the base

and here is the outside - 8'x10". Now that my stove is hooked up and ready to go - I will finish the inside and post soon.

Worked on the shack this weekend. Caulked all openings. Door handles went on the doors. Got a sweep-out. Started screwing in hooks for various supplies. This weekend the roof should be sealed and hopefully the paint job will go on this coming weekend.

My brother in law got a free pop up from someone, he just has to get it yet.  We are going to do the same thing, gut it and build an ice shack.  Good luck, keep the pics coming!

it will be ljghter and wont get heavier with age no more painting  and watching the plywood od luan spliting and swelling from water soaking juslt a little silacone on nail or screw heads and the seams and your all set a few sites sell the rolled metal for bob house walls along wiyth other parts for big money but being from nh where winter beats the poop out of pools theres always 1 out there good luck on the rebuild works well on roofs and walls ski covers can be made from the up right supports and top rails stuf slides great and snow dosnt stick like wood

I had bought a woodstove last year for it. But I'm going with a small rinnai heater. Going to run a gas line out to the front of the trailer so I can haul the grill tank and run it off of that. I wanted to go wood cuz I like the smell of it and can cook on it. But I have portable grills. I need to make the cushions for the booth. I want to be comfortable when I pass out. lol.

Cool!  That what my next permy's gonna be.  An older pop up camper with a vented heater.  Remove old canvas.  Save the roof.  Add walls, windows, door and insulate.  Fin
