Don't know if this will apply to your area, but here in this part of the state, in December it's just getting light enough to see around 10:45am or so, and is usually too dark to see in the hole before 4:00pm. January and February days are quite a bit longer, nine to five say. I've kept a log the last couple years, and most fish I have seen came in the last two hours before dark, from 1:00pm on. A few before noon, but the majority after.
