Bait Shop in Baldwinsville
« on: Jan 30, 2009, 03:08 PM »
The Agway Co-Op in Baldwinsville on Route 31 in the village now carries bait. They have a great selection of shiners both Emerald and Golden shiners...They just started carrying bait so like any first time endeavor they are carrying alot of different sizes until they figure what ones are going to sell the best and what ones are the easiest to care for...The kid taking care of the fish is a fellow fisherman so he enjoys this part of his job...The prices are better than most places I've been too (not Baybridge in Sodus) but still very good prices...the buckeyes he has are very good...he has 3 different sizes of buckeyes and his medium ones are bigger than Ganders large pike bait... the only down side is he is open more business hours and not bait shop hours but I get my bait the nite before and he was really great about saying if I had any problem with die offs just tell him next time and he will make it right... I would rather give my money to a local business than a big corporation...

I was there on Sunday and it was open.  However, I was there around 8 am so it wasn't too early.

Friendly follow up...The buckeyes I bought Sunday morning are still doing fine (minus the ones that were eaten by hungry Oneida perch...They have gone from B'ville to Oneida to all over the lake via sled back to B'ville back to Oneida then back home and are still doing well...Hearty little forkers...

Just another shameless plug for the guys in B'ville Agway...bait was great good numbers and very hearty...tough choice between the small buckeyes for perch or fat heads?
