There has to be. Most likely in the Berksires, altitude is everything early in the season. I fished on over 3" in CT on Friday...

I was on barely safe ice yesterday near Norton. Doubt it'll be safe today though. Head west. I'm looking for a place that way to fish tomorrow.

Central MA like Sargents pond and ceder Meadow have 2-4 inches on them...in spots its thinner but if you stay on the clear white ice your fine.  checked around 12 today.

There was safe ice on a couple ponds near Northampton but I dont know what this rain is gonna do

rain shouldnt have to much affect its going to be a cold night and it will go below freezing tonight it may help...and witht he cold week coming up this weekend almost if to everything should be safe

Define safe.  If you read the posts you will see that there are many interpretations of safe.  We have a whole season ahead of us and it's just around the corner.  I'd hate to hear about a fellow coconut on the nightly news.
