I've always had a problem with the chain or hook breaking.  This lure does catch fish!!!!   I fell in love with this lure about 20 years ago when it was made by Rapala, and it was called the Pilkke!  The Pilkke had a little different shape, and the body had arch in it from head to tail.  If you didn't look close, you would think they were the same lure.  I think about 5 or 6 years ago, Rapala quit making the lure.  Hali took advantage of the lack of competition, and did a great job of marketing their lure.
About a week ago, I noticed someone mention a lure called Shucks Pilkke!  I emailed the person that mentioned "Pilkke", and found that the old Pilkke was indeed still being made.  If you go to www.shuckslures.com, you'll find the original now being made by them.  I immediately ordered a dozen, and am expecting them any day now.  Give them a try for either Perch or Gill's.  DEERJOHN

Numerous char and rainbows have ripped the chain apart as well as the hook....  I wouldn't use another without retrofitting them with a better chain and hook. :-\

These 3 have been the best for me. You can litterally catch just about anything on hali's just pick up some extra hooks and chains because they do break on occasion.
I caught a fish once!
