Help Request - First Time to Burlington VT

My son and I are driving up to Burlington for a youth hockey tournament on 1/16-18 and would like to go ice fishing. I will only be in town for a few days, and was hoping some of the regulars could point me in a general direction for a bait shop and access location. I don't even know which species we should focus on, but perch and pike are fine with us if that is the best bet for some action. I have all the gear, just trying to do some early research.

We may head up early to fit in a full day. Are there hard-side shantys on the ice to rent?

Ace Hardware on Mallett's Bay in Colchester is the place to get bait. From there you can hit Colchester Pond to slam pike and perch. Under the powerlines by the access is a sure shot for pike.
