Took a day off fishing and went and bought this.........
the guy phoned me back this morning, and when he heard my voice(accent) said...."i know you"....turned out to be Keith...the guy i helped in the pre- fish for the Red Lake Fall Classic .....meant to be?...hope so....
Anyway....its 1996 Polaris XLT Touring 600....around 4000 on the clock....not a bad deal at $1900...i thought so anyway .
Goin to winnipeg to pick up a frabill/eskimo/clam 3 man sled/shelter next week....should be set to go for ice fishing with a vengeance this year!!!
BEST THING WAS DRIVING IT HOME FROM KEITHS ACROSS WABIGOON LAKE RIGHT UP MY LAWN!!!

Looks good Simon. You and Mark can be bookends to mine, I think that's the identical sled to his.
Mine is still in the shop. Can't wait to get out with you guys again.
Shoal Lake is getting close to good ice if you want some whiteys again.

Glen

Congrats, man! That's a sweet ride
I was oh so tempted to get one this year, but, am holding off for now.
The only thing that scares me is that you said now you can start ice-fishing "with a vengeance" -- considering the start you're off to now, I can only imagine what kind of damage you're going to do
Bring on the reports!! And keep whatever extra tools/spare parts you need handy

Nice ride vicious.
I just traded up from the 86 bravo to a 98 polaris myself. They make a good sled.

Thanks for the replies guys....being very new to snowmachines its good to hear your positive feedback...not that that will stop the machine from blowing up...but it makes me feel a bit better, looked in good condition...lets hope she serves me well with few hassles!
Hey Glen...dunno if your daughter told ya that i phoned today...just before i went to look at it....just wanted your input before i committed either way. Did your hunt go well? we gonna get some of those good deer sausages for our trip to Shoal? I'll bring those dodgy fancy bread rolls again....lol. Shaol should be good to go by next week eh?...not really dipping below minus 10 during the day for the next week...night temps all look -20 to -30 this week...ice should be good with the lack of snow this year!
Laters all
and thanks for giving me some peace of mind.

You will love this machine.Very bulletproof and trouble free.Have a 96 indy trail which is great for fishing and just eats up the miles on the trails in comfort.Congrats on the toy!

Hey Simon,
Yeah, my daughter told me you called. I just got home from hunting and then out for a Christmas party. Got home too late to call and when I checked here the next day I saw you had posted pics of the new beast. I figured that was what you were calling about.
Congrats on the new purchase. As soon as mine is back from the shop I'll let you know. I'm itchin' for fishin' too.
Later,
Glen
PS - Did manage a day out for crappies on Friday. Horrible time - 4 guys and not one bite. My hunting days are almost over for this season. I will be hitting the ice lots this winter.

We see alot of those in the winter... They hold up great and run day in and out. I got my first sled 2 winters ago, it is a 05 polaris edge touring.

Polaris makes a good sled, I've had a couple skidoos in the past and like them but I really love my old polaris (93 indy trail deluxe 440). I keep modifying it to make it my dream machine.
There would be a bunch of guys from Manitoba who would make the trip to fish shoal with you, its not far.
