Coo Coo Conditions?
« on: Dec 22, 2008, 12:43 PM »
Just wondering what the ice was like on the bigger lakes. Not sure if anyone has been out on it yet what with the cold weather.  ???

I can't quite see it from my place as is about 300 yards of trees in the way. Don't know as just back from Mexico. Sure seems cold here. Gotta go plow my driveway. Might check it out tomorrow for you if you want Fishnutz. With all this sun it will warm up the icecube nicely.

That would be great TGF. Do you use a portable heater in the cube or just solar heat?

I just drove by Coo Coo and its white all the way accross. Went down to check my mail. Wanted to go fishing tomorrow but snow blade giving me problems so gotta tinker on that tomorrow instead of fishing.
Heater....well my cube hasn't been used yet. My buddy has one and fishes with it in -30 temps with Mr Buddy heater. I have fished in my other shack (Frabill Speed Shak) that is black on outside on a sunny day at -18 and it was downright enjoyable in there. I expect the same of the cube. So on cloudy days I will be using a heater but sunny probably not.
I used to not have a shelter of some kind but it cuts down on fishing days when it gets below -25. I hope it hits -40 so I can pop down to the lake and try it out with a heater and see if I can still leave my gloves off inside.
