I don't always listen to music while in the shank, but when I do its country.

I have a little wind up radio that I listen to all the time in the shack, rarely ever leaves Y101, local country station here.

I normally don't listen to music while I'm fishing . When I do, I use my ear phones so its just me enjoying my music not the poor guy 20 yards away.
Just my 2 cents.. keep it or spend it up to you

Les rules!

--- I was just a little pup and it was derby day
Was dad and me and Darrell out in San Pablo bay
Taco flavored Doritos and my orange life vest
Dad caught a hundred pound sturgeon on twenty-pound test

Now he fought that fish for an hour and a half
Darrell said "Jump ya sons a beetch!" and he grabbed for the gaff
Well when we got him in the boat he measured six feet long
I was so danged impressed I had to write this song... called
Fish on ---
"Many fish their entire lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after."-Henry David Thoreau

Whatever's best for drinkin' @ the time. Sometimes country, sometimes classic rock. NEVER cRAP, and NEVER metal (too angry).

What!!!!  Nobody mentioned blues music!!!  For me it's blues music on my mp3.  Ok....many days, no music but when I do listen to music, it's all blues.  I suffer from constant hissing noise in my ears so sometimes I get fed up and drown it out with some blues.  I'm sure that if I didn't have such a noise in my ears, I would enjoy the silence.

No music for me. Just a little bit of NPR on the ice.
I don't listen to anything on the ice, but i suppose i could go for some NPR if i was on the ice alone.  Prairie Home Companion or This American Life on a slow afternoon doesn't sound too bad.

I like to listen to the sound of the lake making ice. Crunching and crackling!

The hum of the vex, hiss of the Coleman lantern, and occasional popping of forming ice is all I want to hear.

Several years ago, we were sitting in the living room one evening, the wife was watching some stupid TV show. I decided I didn't want to hear that, so I headed out to the lake and set up my shack and commenced to fish. Wasn't but a few minutes and I heard another fisherman dragging out. He set up and damned if he didn't have a battery powered TV.  I had to listen to the same show I came out there to get away from. ::)
I'd rather be :icefish:
