don't know.. it was in a common area, that is acessed by every house in the association.. but regardless we got it! I can imagine the look ont he face of the people who stole it and placed it there, and go to use it!! and its gone!.. Ultimately the cop was telling me that ideally the people who took it will find it missing and then go to the station to report it stolen.. then bingo.. they got em'  but he said it is unlikely that they will do anything.  One homeowner closest to the common area stated " i don't know anything about it, it wasn't there a month ago"   hmmmmm  yeah right.. LOL

It probadly wasn't there a month ago because he had it out duck hunting. When I found my new minnow trap that was stolen last year I tied a piece of cement block on the end of the string and about a foot above that I tied a long stick so that he couldn't get it out of the hole without getting his hands wet. I hope it was cold that day when he tried to retieve it.

They have a "greasy" substance that is used in law enforcement that turns a bright purple when you go to wash your hands or get them wet. It takes months to remove the stain. It was commonly used on fire alarm boxes to find the culprits involved in false alarms. It would have been neat to have some of that on your string!

Any furure hunts I take out that way I'll be sure to check on your blind.

After duck season you should drive thru the neighborhood and show it off, I sure you will spot the guilty party.

put an add in the paper/ craigslist or a local store in the area that just says something about finding a 12' jon boat and see who calls. have them describe it to you and if it matches you got them. then set a time and place for them to meet you, preferably not at your house to prevent future vandilism, but like a parking lot somewhere, and just happen to have a "friend" who happens to enforce the law there with you.

im glad you got it back though, that really bites that someone stole it and you had to go that long without it. im really surprised they would bring it back to your area though, without even trying to paint it or make it different.

it just goes to show you how smart some people think they are.

I doubt it ever left the area,I walk this area quite a bit and this time I was high up on the land instead of down in the creek.Thats when I noticed MDH's boat,if I had been traveling as usual I most likely would have missed it.

2 years ago we lost this boat..  And it was there 1 week before I went out to retrieve it..  then it was gone and now all of a sudden shows up?  I think not
