Irish Hills Area
« on: Dec 30, 2007, 06:19 PM »
Was out this afternoon with my son. 3-5" of ice on Vineyard, Wamplers, Allens and Evans Lake. Sand Lake also had ice but no one was fishing it. Ended up fishing on Vineyard. A few decent size gills and many small ones. Who cares! I finally made it out on the hard water. :D :D

I drove out to those lakes a few days ago, they looked a bit thin to my liking. Now with the warm weather moving in......looks like mid to late Jan. for me to get out there.

I didn't get over that way. I wanted to fish Devils, but I figured because of its size it would't be frozen yet.

I heard there were some anglers fishing just out from the access.  They were pulling in the yellow perch.  Didn't hear how thick the ice was.
When the bass season is over, there's nothing better than ice fishing!

Howie or any body else that might see this. I have been fishing on Wamplers Lake for 11 years and would like to know where the Walleye are ?? About 9 to 10 years ago Knutson's in a joint effort planted 10,000 9 to 10" Walleye. Where did they all go ??? I heard of one other person that caught (one only) Walleye. Any body out their have the Hot Spot that they are willing to share. Are they holding in the deeper water in front of the State Park or have all the fish been eating by the Pike ???

Thanks for looking and any info you might be willing to share,
