moultonboro ice fishing
« on: Jan 24, 2009, 09:34 AM »
Has anyone ice fished the rotory ice derby in the moultonboro area. I'm going to be new to this area and I'm hoping to catch something along with having a great time. Can anyone tell me how that area is for ice fishing, whats out there for fish ( lakers, rainbows, white perch ?),how the ice is for the ATV. I sure would appreciate it. Thanks.......

I have fished it in the past & caught lakers & cusk & yellow perch. Action was same as any other place on winni. I got skunked today out of Leavitts  & the ice was 12".

fished back side of hull island today. Started a bit late for white perch (9:00 am) but still managed one. Dropped some corn on the bottom to try to scare up some lake trout and they showed up in numbers on the aquaview in about 45 minutes. Got only one though, wind kicked up and we moved into a cove. Should be better white perch with an earlier start

The area wasn't that bad last year, even with the sloppy conditions.
It wasn't too crowded, as the vast majority of bob houses are going to be located in Meredith Bay and Center Harbor (as usual).
