I just bought one myself....so I'm interested to hearthe answers for future reference.
I would check the plug but it obviously sounds like a fuel problem. But my buddy just had a similar cituation with his Jiffy. Ended up being a gummed up plug. he thought it may have been a gasket but he just ended up flooding it trying to keep it going................c heck the plug.

Thanks Mugz! I'll pickup a new plug and try that! I had a friend of mine look at it and he said there's no way to adjust the fuel.

Sounds like your low rpm jet (idle) is clogged. The the carb needs to be cleaned. Do you stablize your gas in the spring? That is usually the root cause of these problems.

Where' the low rpm jet? I have to admit when it comes to working on anything mechanical, forget it. Should I get some carb cleaner? How do you stablize the gas?

To do it right the carb needs to be taken apart and cleaned. Most likely you will have white gunk blocking the ports. If you don't know how to do it then take to a small engine shop and have them clean it.

To stabilize your gas, go and get a bottle of Stabil at your local hardware store and follow the directions.

I love mine. i bout it from walmart 3 years ago and have had very little trouble with it. It is the 2 horse with the 10" blade. The one problem I have had with it is that the plastic casting for the throtle had some burs left on it, wich prevented it from moving smoothly. Out came my knife and there when the problem!

I agree sounds like clogged carb to me. at the end of the season empty the gass out and then run it till it stops...Do you guys mave MTBE in your gas down there?
