Northern action
« on: Feb 28, 2008, 02:07 AM »

Went out 2/27 on a sunny day with the wind blowing 20mph, I set my traps up close to an island with the camera focused on one of the shiners.  We parked about 20 feet away with the camera cord stretched out through the window in the Durango.  Sat in the warmth of the vehicle and watched flags fly, had 2 swing and misses, one 3.5 lber and this short but fat 7.64lb northern.  Caught it 20 feet from the tip up with the camera on it. 2 Tip ups out; go figure I choose the wrong one to put the camera on.

Nice work...
Thank you ICE DOG, it sure is fun hand lining nice fish in. It takes a different mindset to go face to face with a toothy critter bare handed.
Thank you also fishing machine, this flowage produces some nice fish considering it's roughly 40 acres. There is usually 1-3 40"+ pike caught each winter out of it.
