I think there is a thread in R/C for there. May be Old Forge, someone here I'm sure knows. The regulars on it were preatty friendly about telling me what and where last year. I never went and forgot. My wife and I had our Honeymoon on 4th. Beutiful area. That's what got me talking to the guys about what they caught there. Thought we may go back sometime here soon.

You don't need one but It helps to have one! There is Plenty of good fishing within walking distance!!  There is Access off the Main Drag Rt. 28 In Inlet! It's easy to drive by it (State Launch site) so keep your eyes peeled for it. Probably best to check out a map quick before going. There is lots of tourist up there now (Snowmobilers) if you ask around you'll get pointed in the right direction! It's not like one of those mountain lakes you get to and your all alone cutting a trail...

There's some really nice laker's in there, beautiful dark coloring on them, worth the trip for sure!

If you strike out there head over to Seventh and get some of those jumbo salmon!  ;)

The Lakers are not safe to eat guys.  Please remember that.  They are big and numerous, but aren't for the dinner table.

I am going to 4th lake in February.  I generally fish for perch.  How do you guys set up your poles for the lakers?  Is the pan fishing good?

Where can you find anything that says you cant use baitfish?? Fished it last year with bait, seen DEC coming off the lake and nothing was said about my bait.I just looked in the reg. book it says nothing about no live bait. Then I checked the special regulations section on NYS DEC.com and this never mentioned Limekiln lake no bait fish just wondering where it says you cant use bait?????

Just looked through the Regs myself and you are right!! I'm sorry for posting that!!! I've been avoiding Limekiln for a few years now because I thought that was the case. In a way I'm glad I posted that; I've always wanted to try it... But again I am sorry for that bad claim..

I found the source that gave me the bad info on not being able to use minnows on Limekiln. It's from the Spiral Bound "Sportsman's Connection" book with the maps that you always see at Wal Mart. It's the Central Southeastern Adirondacks volume, page 52.

Funny I was just talking wit a freind of mine about getting on limekiln or 4th next weekend, Toner and Kingfishy keep me posted maybe we could have a little party out there... The more the merrier in my book...

If you really think so, but the lake already has enough exposure as it is, the state record Splake came out of it... There is so much water in that area that people look over Limekiln I think.

That don't surprise me about the splake. I bet there gonna try and put Lakers back in it and Brookies. They were there before the state killed the lake off years ago I believe. Brookies definately anyway and I could have swore some said there were Lakers in there also also.

Just curious, I have caught a couple nice browns out off there open water anybody have any luck with them thru the ice?
