Harrris Bay/Assembly Point parking warning.
« on: Jan 30, 2008, 06:57 AM »
A word to the wise guys, be careful where and how you are parking and going on at Harris Bay. I know a lot of guys want to get out and fish, and this is one of the only games in town on Lake George, but be aware, people are watching.

Lets not get more access closed down.

I know on Saturday the crowds were coming down the same set of stairs they closed off last year.  That same set had posted signs all over it but they were still coming down them.  Sunday morning the stairs were taped off.

To me some fisherman get what they deserve.  Posted is posted.

By saying set of stairs...are you referring to the  assembly point rd side? 15 yrs ago  we parked on a side road and walked down some stairs to gain access ,drove by today and  the same stairs were blocked off and it said thin ice danger.....Drove  up to fort ann beach and seen open water  about 100yds out...3 inches of ice at the shore ...little too thin for me still...also went  up the other side of the lake to cotton point and found it very thin up there too..

BINGO!!!! Driveways get blocked, plows and fire apparatus can't pass, traffic can't pass, people get P@#$%d. You all know the drill. access is getting harder and harder to come by. Some dumb schmo's screwed up the access on the end of assembly point a few years ago. lets not let it happen again.
