Fishin Winni over the Weekend!

Well we hit winni friday and sunday.  Caught 3 lakers a rainbow a white perch a yellow perch and a few smelt on friday and sunday caught 3 beautiful rainbows 1 laker and hooked into 4 or 5 really nice salmon.  the rainbows went 19,19,20,21in.  they were all footballs.  Huge healthy fish!

GREAT JOB GUYS! GREAT PICS, SOME GOOD LOOKING FISH THERE. WE DID WELL ON SILVER LAKE THIS PAST SUNDAY. WHAT A WAY TO START OFF THE EARLY ICE SEASON.
 THIS WEATHER IS GOING TO SET US ALL BACK A BIT,SO MUCH FOR PUTTING OUR  SHANTY OUT ON WINNI THIS WEEKEND! MAY HAVE TO GIVE IT ANOTHER WEEK OR TWO.

Nice fish! are those rainbows you are holding? I caught one the other day from winni and it was very dark, those look very silver.

yeah I saw your bow,  beautiful colors on it!  Im not sure exacly why they can be diff. colors.  im not sure if it has to do with the feed in the area or the water clairity or what, but they are rainbows!  some like yours are very dark with a prominent red line and some like ours have more of the steelhead look with a duller pink line!  either way they are beautiful fish!

A biologist told me that water depth and clarity contribute to the fishes overall color. Also fish that are in the wild longer develope better colors because of the natural environment.

My buddy pulled out a nice rainbow from Tower Hill in Candia and a NH biologist checked it out and gave us that explanation.

Nice Fish Guys,

Not that I expect an exact location but what area (town or bay) were you fishing? I understand if you decide to keep that info private.

No tags and im glad!  I would hate to catch a fish that size with a tag before the derby!  We were in gilford.
