A friend of mine made it out today and caught 5 nice 10 inch black crappies. They got another 30 dinks between 5 to 8 inches, and missed another 30 bites. Got to love fishing for them papermouths. The bite was on from 3 o'clock till dark. After it got dark they stayed another hour and didnt get another bite. In my opinion I usually dont even see the fish on my vex until a hour after dark most of the times. There was another guy that had a 18 inch walleye. A different guy was targeting gills with a ness . There were a total of about 6 groups of guys on the ice tonight. There was 2 inches of slop ice 2 inches of sluch/ water, than 2 inches of solid blue on the bottom. Still a bit thin 4 me. Especially when we are to get rain in the forcast on Saturday. Looks like I will get my Christmas wish- to be on the ice before the end of 2007. GOOD LUCK.

Hey, that buddy you were refering to was u. Cant wait to c-ya out there. I am hoping maybe mid-week next. sure hope to find that 4-5 inch mark. Picked up 20.00 worth of new jigs from Shirley at country bait this evening on my way back from Chesterton. Met a guy in there who was headed out to loomis for gills. He was headed back to Dr Swarners old place. U know where that is, see ya there soon i hope.
