Dad's little buddy
« on: Jan 18, 2008, 01:40 PM »
It's his 2nd year on the ice.He stays out longer this year as long as I pull him around in the sled.
There is nothing better than the smile on a childs face when they see the fish come up through the hole.

Well, my dad started me young, and im a girl.
I wouldnt give up just yet on trying to get your kids interested, I would start on the small stuff, like on the boat or off the dock, and then move for the big stuff like on the ice. I wouldnt say the ice is the big stuff but it can be more fun. Now that im growing and getting older, I use to be addicted to ice fishing. Im more of a boat girl now. Its every kids dream to catch a fish in there lifetime.

  :D

Just dont give up parents.

WTG!!!  Start them young and they will be your fishing buddy forever. Started my oldest son fishing early and he's just a fishaholic. Going to take my two younger ones out this year.

I bought a shanty for the main purpose of keeping little ones warm.  If they stay warm, it keeps them
out longer, and then myself out longer   ;D    It has also come in handy on those colder days out alone though.
My son like ice fishing better than regular fishing.  My friends laugh and say its in his blood!    ::)

Here is me an my 5 yr old daughter yesterday with a 6.5 lg mouth.  On this day, my wife came along to, who's 6 months pregnant w/the next little ice fishin queen.  My daughter loves it.  She stays out all day and doesn't want to leave!
