If you go thru Walker
« on: Oct 24, 2007, 09:42 PM »
I was in Walker a few weeks ago stopping at Reed's as usual, went across the street to the new Bait Shop (Scriber's) next to the Subway shop as they said they had Creek chubs.  He had the neatest fabricated metal ice auger holders to bolt on your garage wall or inside your ice house.  They keep your auger 90 deg.  I bought two.. one for the garage and one for the ice shanty... I think he said some guy in Fargo or Moorhead makes them.  Check them out.

Here is a pic of the iceauger holder... poor pic from my cell phone, low light.  I havent got it inside my Ice house yet as Ive been too busy deer hunting.  It has three hole for screws on the 90 deg wall part will hold any type of auger straight up.  I have another for my garge for summer storage.

You can get something similar from Strikemaster but it is around $23.00.

The one from Jiffy is around $45.00.

I just have two screw in hooks coming out of the studs in the garage that hold the tubular handle on my Strikemaster perfectly.

I originally took this picture to show the fins on my boat motor, but you can see some of my auger hanger too.

It is a 12 or 14 inch pipe nipple with a cap on one end and a railing flange on the other. I put two of them about 16 inches apart and put some foam pipe insulation over them to prevent slipage and scratching of the handles. I bet I have less than $8 into it. I will post a better pic later. It is the same principal of the Jiffy stand for a fraction of the cost.

A great idea.  As a pipefitter, I'll be able to get all but the rail flanges for free!!!!!!!

Here are a couple pics. This setup works great! If you put the insulation over the pipes, you can even run the auger on there. It comes in handy when you want to tune the carb or run it out of gas in the spring.

Speaking of, I better get that thing running pretty quick!
