ATV Tire Chains

If you had a  4x4 ATV and only one set of chains,  where would you put them, front or back?

On the front as stated above so you can turn,if you a big lug tires then I use short stove bolts which work well.

In 4wd the front will help turn it. Try it on the front and back and use what you like. I don't use chains on my 4wd quads. Never needed them. Plus I like whipping them around a little bit.

Why would you want to use chains.  ??? ??? ???
Whats more fun than jumpin on the quad to go after that far out flag and when you get there....you just slide bye ;D, and then you can't turn around cause your in such a hurry now you can't stop spinnin your tires >:(. And you finally get going just to slide bye again . Until you finally give up...get off the quad....and walk over to the flag....where the fish is long gone  :%$#!:.
So screw the chains, and the ice cleats for your boots.
just lay face down on that beer gut of yours and pull yourself across the lake with your safety picks  . Pull up that dink perch you just caught on a 4" shiner. Get all your   :%$#!: out off the way, crawl back to your shanty to drink another beer :flex: and repeat process as necessary until your to drunk to drive home and have to spend the night in your shanty **censored** off cause you didn't spend the few extra dollars on enough chains.  :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

sorry @ work, bored, & teed off cause I'm not hunting.

went 17mi. on opening day last year in 14in. of fresh snow w/ rear chains on my yamaha bruin 350 w/ jet sled loaded in tow! no problems! chains do make a diff. but i wouldnt put on the front. its hard on the  front drive train and most of the weight on a atv is on the rear. yes it doesnt turn as easily w/ them on the back but you get more bite to keep you going. good luck!

I don't know what kind of ATV you have but Polarise only puts chains on the rear tires because of struts and such.I put in 1/2 inch studs in all 4 tires and take them out in the spring they last 3 seasons Ask your ATV dealer  ART

I use chains on the back. NEver had a problem. Putting them on the front is hard on the driveline as stated by others.
