Frabill Trekker Flip Over ?
« on: Dec 10, 2008, 05:38 AM »
hey Just picked up a brand new one of these ! Any info-comments -things to look for about it ?? I realize it is not as heavy fabric as what the Clams use but for the money I think it was a great deal !! Has padded seats which look really nice ? I'm just trying to find someone who has one of these ?? Like I said I got a great Deal on it $225-- Still in the box never put together. Couldn't pass that up for a flip-over two man shanty !!  Thanks for any help !

I just got a brand new one of these as well I have had it on the ice 4-5 times and love the thing for 1 person there is way more than enough room and with 2 ppl it still isnt all that bad.........I would suggest that once you get it set-up on the ice use the snow flaps and bank it up just a little bit it really help to keep the wind from coming in the back side of the tarp.............and also once you get to the step when you have to put the tarp on the poles and put the weather guard on the sled make sure you leave yourself a little extra slack in the tarp but you want it nice and tight so that the wind cant move it...........also as far as heat goes they don't hold heat the greatest by that I mean if you leave your heater on and put it in the sled it warms better than having it in front of you on the ice.............I use the Mr. Heater cooker/heater hooked to a 30lb tank.........I leave the tank outside of course but that works great...........you got a steal of a deal on your if its still in the box I paid 279.99 plus tax for mine. ;D ;)  but that 280 was the best money I spent for a portable shanty............I really like it because it is light only 74lbs I can load it myself............and its nice because if I am by myself I can only have one of the two seats in it...........for the money it is a really nice portable (IMO) ;)
