turning a long time friend on to ice fishing. knew and hunted with the man for 25 yrs but would never ice fish. finally talked him into going and now he is hooked. told his wife that now he has to buy all this equipment. she is just thrilled with me.

Building my 1st hardside shanty.  Getting more friends to go with me this yr.  Icing my 1st salmon.  All in all, it's been a great year.  Looking forward to some open water, hunting seasons, then MORE ICE FISHING!!!!!!!!!

The employment of effort, hard work, time, and energy put in locating fish will offend noone.

Took two people ice fishing for the first time .You people tell me if I did good or goofed.I had them go to Red Lake in MI with me and another ice fisherman.I had to tell them this was not real.So they made me take them up there for another trip Just to prove me wrong.

Met some great new people on the ice this year, as well as a local Party Boat Captain who started ice fishing this year.  Going out tomorrow AM to join him for some open water Trout.
Walked out on a lake this year in fog so thick that we couldn't see shore after about fifty feet...... totally disoriented out there until the sun burned the fog off mid-day!!  Great experience!!!!  Blind-Mans-Bluff looking for our tip-ups.

See you all next season!IceBalls

Guiding a 11 yr old kid into a 14 lb laker and seeing the wide eyes as I pulled it up the hole.

Here he is.

My six year old son's first ice fish.  Not as big as that laker, but here's his first fish - a small gill.  He was really freaked out by the sounds the ice made though.  It was like 20 degrees out and I tried to tell him it was good noise - ice getting stronger and all.  But a six year old imagination can run wild.
Keep the tradition alive - take a kid hunting, trapping and fishing!

The people I met fishing from here.
[IMG]http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s109/snaggerr/IceShantyBanner-1.png[/imagine  Since there is six times as much water than land anyone can see that the good lord intended for man to fish six times more than he works.

We had a Pro-Am Bass derby come to town, and my 14 year old son wanted to go in it. I told him to save $250, and I'll throw in the other $250, best move I ever made. He had 3 days of fishing with the pros, and learned alot. He lives to fish, and by not saying no to him, I think helped to keep him off the streets, and out of trouble. To bad more kids couldn't experience something like that.

Had my first encounter with muskrats trying to come into my shack with me. My wife was sitting next to me and nearly did a simulation of the space shuttle launch.

Took my daughter out onto her first fishing trip....and she caught her first fish ever. ;D

Was also able to put one of my Army buddies who's never fished much onto his first salmon and his first togue.  Nothing big, but he was certainly happy.

My favorite memory is when I took my buddy to Sodus and he caught his first 13+ inch perch. He is hooked now and I think I may have found another fishing partner as hardcore as me. We were out last Saturday in the pouring rain. All he had on was a couple of sweatshirts and no shanty. We ended up limiting. I told him we can go at anytime and he said "not until I get my limit." He was soaked and freezing, but didn't want to leave. Now that's what I'm talking about. Diehard.

I have been hunting or fishing almost everyday of my life. The rest have been wasted.
