Auger "Cone Hole" maker?
« on: Mar 12, 2007, 05:43 PM »
I haven't seen this for a few years now.  But does anyone remember an attachment (used on a power auger) to make the bottom of your hole cone shaped.  After it was used the hole looked like an upside down funnel.  Did anyone ever own one of these?  How did it work, and are they still made?
Happiest when on a frozen lake!

You can check here .. Augers

There was the same question asked about a month ago. If I remember correctly there was a problem with the unit locking under the ice and you couldn't get your auger out.

You're looking for the "Ice Angler".  It's a cutting device that attaches to a gas auger drill and automatically enlarges the base of your hole into a conical shape as you pull up on the auger.  The wide-based hole is make it easier to slip a large fish into the hole.
