Well friday afternoon I am heading to Vermont with my buddy to fish Willoughby for 3 days.  Since there is no more safe ice in central mass. ahah.  We will be in search of some big lakers, and salmon.  I am going to bring my camrea, and take pictures and when i come back i am going to try to master the art of posting pics.

Don't jinks yourself by telling people you will take pictures because that's when you won't catch anything. Trust me, it has happened to me in the past now I just pack it and use it when I need it.(((((FLAG)))))     GOOD LUCK IN VERMONT

Massfisher,  check the Vermont Abstracts.  I heard you aren't able to use lead weights on your fishing lines now?  It might be only on certain bodies of water?  Looking into this might save you an earfull from the local EPO's...  Tight lines.

Just checked out the Vermont fish and Game web site.  As of 01-01-07, it is illegal you use Lead sinkers weighing one-half ounce or less.

vermont, nh and maine no lead kills the loons. the fish eat the lead and the loons eat the fish and the lead doesn't kill the fish but it does kill the loons.

Buy the Tungsten weights and save the package in case they give you slack

Ok wicked long trip and i am extremely beat so i will post a report that has to do very little about fishing tomorrow(not a very productive trip).

Alright so heres the report, it will be the edition where i get to the point quickly since after work today I went ice fishing again and it wasnt too pleasant. so I am beat again.

Friday night we went to the lake to scope it out and we drove the truck out on a plowed roda and broke through 3 inches of ice which help 8 inches of water and slush under it.  So at 8:00 at night in hick *ss vt. we were stuck.  It took 2 hours of jacking up and stickin 4 wheeler ramps under it we finally got it out,  So we find a pizza hut or something and we eat.  Then we go to my buddys house and go to get the four wheeler out to use for fishing and the snow was so hard it was staying on top and then it broke through right to the racks in snow, the snow was up to my chest and we tried digging it out for like 1/2 hour, and then we went and go the tractor going which took another 1/2 hour and we dug it out.  now using a 4 wheeler was out of the question.  so we got a snowmobile out, and loaded that.  it was 12:30 went inside and got undressed, and got crap settled in and went to bed at, 1 then we got up at 3. 

We start to headout on the lake and once we got out of the cove it was like a blizzard,  from blowing snow the winds were gusting to 50 - 60mph,  and it was 10 outside.  And there was so much slush the snowmobile was almost getting stuck.  so we turn and head back to another cove.  We stop and get off and the snow and slush was up to my nutz.  I look back at the jet sleds and see that 2 are filled with slush and the other is almost empty.  so it turns out on the ride out i lost 12 of my 20 heritage lakers, a chair, a shovel, and a bag the had line and sounders, and other important stuff in there.  So i found the tilts  after looking for 5 minutes and my huge heart attack was over. since i found those i wasnt worried about the other crap as much.  but they were in the bigest slush pit and driving in that fried the belt.  so the sled was usless. Now to the fishing, tons of flags hit and runs, just hits, but only 1 14inch laker on a 8 inche sucker. 

We went in the day and went to bed, and it poured that night and we slept the next day becasue we were so beat.  then monday we went out again, this time with snow shoes and it wasnt as bad but same thing tons of flags and a 22 inch laker.

That sucks but no one got hurt and that is what counts. Wish the fishing was better for you but its still nice to get away like that.

so..... are you heading back up there this weekend or are you trout fishing on hardwater here?

NO i am staying here this weekend,  as long as nothing else dramatic happens this week, but if crap keeps going the way it has been i might be 6 feet under by the end of the week.
