Gull Lake Smelt

We had pretty good luck with the smelt Wednesday night on Gull Lake..Check out the Vex...Halix jigs and spikes seemed to work pretty good, got 165 in about 2 1/2 hours...... ;D

Gull Lake is located in Kalamazoo County....(we use the Prairieville Township Park access in Barry County to get on the lake....The lake is about 2000 acres...We we're fishing in about 64 FOW...(max depth of the lake is 110).....They say Gull Lake has 55 species of fish in it, which includes landlocked Atlantic Salmon.....Fun lake to fish...

always wanted to go there, how much ice is there....if i went next weekend would it be safe?

I'd think the ice hasn't changed much since Wednesday.....There was about 12"......Let us know how you do....

Well they weren't the 12 inch variety, but ran 6 to 8 inches.....Worth cleanin....Ate REAL good......

yeah heard they were decent, the ones at higgins ticked me off... i was catchin some up in kalkaska that were over 10 inches long at minimum that was nice
