Does anyone have one or know someone who has one? If so how do you/they like it compared to a vex?

I have a vx-1 which would be equivelant to a vexilar fl-8 but I think is more comparable to the vexilar fl-18 and about half the money as a fl-18. definately worth more for your money than a vex. if you were going to fish deeper water, such as over 80 feet I would suggest going with atleast an lx-3. but if you didn't want to spend that much more the vx or lx 1 would be good. I definately think marcums are better than vexilars. Hope this helps.

I fish with a marcum LX-5 the best sonar I have ever used . A much better unit then any thing out there . easy to use and understand 3 times a powerful as the competion . also made in America  . I would not go fishing with out it . Go to marcums site and take a look for your self  . once you use it you will know what I mean  . For the money the LX-1 is a great price it will do almost any thing you want to do . For a little extra the LX-3 is also great . The LX-5 stands alone at the top. If you want a demo of the LX-5 let me know mabey we can set something up

I used my VX1 in 130 feet of water yesterday and it performed great.  Hit the zoom and was able to mark fish just off the bottom.  Best $232.00 I ever spent.
A bent rod is a good rod!
