Long Pond ang Guilford Lake
« on: Feb 21, 2007, 11:24 AM »
Has anyone heard anything about Long Pond or Guilford Lake? I was looking to go out this weekend and I haven't caught anything in the Binghamton area and was kinda hoping the fish were biting at one of these locations... Any recommendations or tips if you are catching fish would be greatly appreciated.

Buddy of mine just got back from Long Pond yesterday.  He found 31 inches of snow, made walking miserable, and in two days fishing caught only a few small Yellows.  Sorry to burst your bubble!!

Long Pond chenango county has been slow but if you punch a mess of holes and move alot you probably can muster up a meal if your looking to cook a few. Or fish it after dark for some crappies but once again you need to punch alot of holes and move.

I am only 10 years old and a long time ago I cought a big fish at long pond but last month there was only 1 fish and it was a crappie and it was not a good size and it was only 5 inches so I do not know if you want to go to long pond and I would not go there if I were you :(

                  good luck fishing  R.J.

I went to that private pond in Binghamton last night and caught a dink perch and a nice bullhead. The first two fish Ive caught through the ice this year. The picture is a little blurry...Sorry if this doesnt work ive never tried to post a picture on here.

Those are the reason I don't spend alot of time night fishing Long pond anymore. Around 7:00pm the bulleads come through and you can't keep them off your rig. Doesn't matter what bait cause they like them all, big ones two.
