swartswood lake

wheres the best place for walleye in swartswood ,is it froze over yet and wheres the deepest place,is there lake trout in there.Ive fished swartswood by the island in the shallows and caught pickeral,what actually is the deepest part of this lk.

I think the lake is roughly 50' at it's deepest point about the middle of the lake straight out from the state park beach.

its deeper than 50 ft its a tough lake to fish and i have never seen a lake with as much herring in my life i think thats what makes it so tough to fish theirs to much forage in the summer the herring are jumping out all nite long

It's not a tough lake to fish you just have to know it & you need a good fish finder

Has anybody been on Swartswood yet? Is there safe ice between the swim beach and the back of the island goinf toward the old Rabbit Patch boat rental? ??? ??? ???

Yes & no the main lake keeps busting the ice up.

I took a ride up there last w/e, I posted a pic taken from the main lake, see for yourself under NJice thread page5. I was surprised to see it had the least amount of ice than everywhere else. Things may have changed with all this artic air over us but it was 90% open last week. Pop says it's all the wind the lake gets that's keeping the ice at bay. I've had good luck there in the past.
People think we're crazy but we know better!

I took a ride yesterday a saw people on little swartswood nobody on the main lake,looking from the beach out i could see a little open water around that island,their were geese all over the open water looks like a suck job
