mille lacs trip

i am planning on going to mille lacs next week (wed&thurs) and i am going out of hunters point. i have never fished this mille lacs on hard water, what is it like there this year are folks doing good? And i wanna know if i should drive my truck(9MPG) or my car (27MPG) will my car be just fine out on the ice/snow? blake

a guy my wife works with said best action was mud flats. if  your truck is 4x4 id take that.

yeah it is 4wd but it does so bad on gas that i only like to take it around here. i booked the trip today and the guy at Hunters said that i could be just fine with a car out on the ice, any one else able to inform me?

we don't have much snow on the ice up here
just a lot of cold weather it was 22 below around here this morning..

I hope it warms up before us Il boys come up the 15 of feb.  Atleast to lets say 10 degrees.  You know more of what we are having now.

I think were going outta fishers next weekend not for sure thou but thats where we went outta last year I'll prolly be on the ice by wed afternoon the 14th swing by I'm sure there will be a spare cold one lol

Thanks hard ice sounds like they had a rough go last week maybe the same will show for this week making em want to bite next week while were there!!! LOL It's not like I go there for the Ice Fishing anways I catch my share of fish and then look for the cold ones lol I'll PM ya again thanks for the report

got back a lil while ago didnt do as good as i had expected, 2 walleye 19 & 25 inches, my first pout eeew!! and a big 12 inch perch, thats it.
