Since my Cowboys lost and I have a three day weekend I am thinking very seriously about heading up there.  I have never been that far north.  Sounds like a good time. Any hotels or motels that far north.

Jacksmelt71, is there to much snow up there for a 4 wheeler?  Do you have to pre-resgister for the derby? Thanks for any info.

i guess on sat. and sun. you can register at the long lake sporting club. snows not too bad yet if you got a 4 by 4 but that could change in one snowfall up here.

Never been to Long or area. Would love to go win that tourney. Don't know if I can get there from here? Would a old man freeze to death walking to the fishing grounds? Do you rent out those wooden tents, for less then 100.00 per night, wood included? How far to the muskie grounds? Do you have white fish up there? When is the can-am dog sled races? I think I can make it, not sure yet. paul  :-\

Well I'm packing for a win! Is there enough ice to build an igloo? Need a team Maine flag? Just printed out 10 forms? Are their large white perch in long? One 14" yellow would be nice. Any size to the cusk? I just might get there?

Sounds like a fun weekend. Hector and I just might make the trip. Now that winter has started probably need to take an backhoe just to dig down to the four foot thick ice. A lot can happen in 19 days.

by the way paul theres no white perch in long but real big yellows. there are river whites in the mouth of brooks in those lakes. muskies are about 1hr. drive north of there. and i bet you could find some very willing souls to split the gas w/ you to come up. just ask! pm me if you need any info. or anyone else for that matter. tight lines!

i bet u need 14 for that big shack! you may have to wait awhile or put it in cyr cove. the sporting clubs got 5-6in. right now. less further out. shouldnt have a problem getting perch in long. theres some big buggers in there! last time i was there i got one 15in. and fat as hell! was fun on the ultra lite!

Thanks Jacksmelt, I do have a portable. What I don't have, is enough knowledge of the area to pick a spot. Because I will be visiting, I won't have the conforts of a fire at that spot, unless someone will put a hard side there, and let me rent it for the whole time I'm up there. Right now i"m searching for Lake maps? Hows the point between Sinclair and van Buren? If I do go, I'll be-sure to let you know, so we can hook up.  ;)paul
