Anybody been to the show at the state fairgrounds this weekend?

I went on Fri. and was disappointed. Haven't been in a few years and was hoping to stock up on some tackle, used to be able to get plastic bodies, jigs and whatnot and get some good deals on them. Not one vendor was selling them. Unless your interested in an outfitter of some kind I wouldn't bother going. Just my two cents worth though.

Just got back. $9 to get in for adults, wasn't crowded at all. Lots of vendors/outfitters. I always have a good time, but I don't have to travel far. Stopped serving beer at 7:45 p.m. Thats a bummer. Spoke for a while with Mike from Fish On! charter. He has some good deals on salmon/steelhead & walleye. Knows what he's doing and has a prime spot on the river.

Yeah, Mike's a good guy.  I've never been fishing with him but I've talked to him several times in different capacities.  He's very active in maintaining the local fisheries and services, including the Sandy Pond Inlet dredging issues.  If I ever need a chartered salmon trip he'd be the first place I'd go.

I also went on fri.afternoon won't take time off of work again to go, Its always the same there, alot of outfitters
and not enough merchandise if you want to buy gear, jigs and so-on.Same as it always is but kills a couple of hours

The seminar given by Todd Frank about fishing for walleyes on Oneida was the only bright spot
unless you're in to staring at a huge bear lying in wood chips.
