Quick Strikes rigs for me.  Make my own but you can buy them.  I fish them about a foot or so off bottom with smelt.  I like #4 hooks on a 12" steel leader.  One hook just loose on the leader and one attached to the end.  Put one hook in gill area and one in the middle of the back, ready to fish.

I like making my own rigs using 2 single hooks.  The last hook goes into the head of the bait with hook point exposed and the hook further up goes through the back of the bait just behind the dorsal fin.

Since the baits can be different lengths, I make my rigs so that the higher hook can be adjusted.  To do this, I pass the leader through a small bead.  Then I thread the hook on the leader then pass the leader again through the bead.  This makes a loop in the line which holds the upper hook.  The loop can be adjusted by sliding the leader through the bead yet the bead locks the leader when it's time to strike the fish.  I use very flexible 54 strand fine steel leader material.  The 12 lb test leader is as fine as 4 lb mono and is so flexible that I can tie a knot with it.  I tie a small swivel to the end of the leader material after making the rig.

i use two hooks crimped on the same loop in opposite directions usually gamakatsu octopus 3/0 and 2/0 together. this rig works like none other i have tried! have hooked many big fish with one hook in the top jaw and the other in the bottom jaw. i put both hooks in the top middle of the bait to get them to hang perfectly level and natural looking. good luck!   d b d.

I have seen similar rigs made up of 2 equal short lengths of wire leader about 3 inches long tied to a central point.  At the ends of each length of leader, there is a small treble hook.  It is meant to support the bait so that it is level.

Anyone use the Sweedish Hook or Pike Hook method?

Good Fishing!
