It can snow to cool open water faster then get Cold that will help us out alot ussally its the other way around I like nice black ice but i will settle for some snw ice on top of it.

I was out checking farm ponds and some smaller ponds on state land. The thickest ice I could find was 1 inch and it was melting away from the shore. With todays rain...it will be gone soon.  :'(

The only good thing about this weather (if you could even contimplate that) is that the Turkeys are gonna have a easy winter so the Spring hunt should be unbelievable!

I was just reading in the newspaper that Rochester had its' warmest December on record.The article also stated that 2006 was the warmest year on record in Maine.The article mentioned that the exceptional warmth has fueled interest in global climate change.Now comes the really interesting part from the article, " The computer simulations of future climate indicate that the NORTHERN LATITUDES WILL WARM THE MOST,ESPECIALLY DURING THE WINTER and at night.So far this winter,Maine is right on target with those predictions."

Well here we go again cold for a couple of days and then right back to April.  I was watching the Today show while getting ready for work and they were asking the weather guy what is causing this and his response was he had no idea.

I was out small game hunting yesterday and found a frog hopping around. I worry that with the cold temps comming the frogs that are coming out of hibernation are going to freeze.

I noticed on a lot of the trees on our farm, the buds were starting to swell out. This keeps up we'll have trouble with the fruit trees.
