Saponac Pond info
« on: Feb 26, 2023, 06:47 AM »
Hey everyone. We are renting a camp on Saponac this upcoming weekend and were curious if anyone had any info on it? We weren't sure if we should spend time fishing there or venture out to one of the more popular ponds in that area? The last survey was in 1955 and stated that it is a decent warm water fishery and that's ok with us.
Any recommendations on a local bait shop? We are bringing our snow sled so we can get around pretty well on any of the area lakes, provided we can figure out access. Thanks, Andy

Popular spot with the locals for those seeking a white perch feed.  Head further east to spring or west for brookies and salmon, nicatous for splake. Please keep an eye out for the two missing ladies presumed to be in that area.

Thank you for the info. I was unaware of the story about the two missing women, we will definitely keep an eye out for them and their vehicle. Hopefully they're found safe and sound.

Thank you,  I think all of Maine is worried for their safe return as time passes.  Sorry to highjack, you are going to a great area.  Get your bait in old town on way up.

The missing women were in the news in CT. A report said they may have mistaken signs for Topsfield for their home town of Topsham. Hope someone spots them soon.

Amazing news from what I think alot were expecting.   I've read greenbush, nicatous lake,  and east Hancock but the details matter not in the big picture .  I think they mean to say nicatous lake in eastern Hancock county which makes sense from where they were last seen.

Great ending to what could have been a tradegy.  So glad they thought to stay with the vehicle!  Kudos to MWS!
