Oak Leaf Grubs - Thoughts?

It was a banner year for getting them. I have 1000's ready to go. Best way to rig them up. Thoughts?

I tried them last year   Too large for pannies they just picked them apart while avoiding the hook which wasn't hard because the grubs are mostly liquid any way   I won't bother with them again even though it was kinda fun harvesting them   Maybe others have faired better but I'll use spikes

i harvested  a  bunch of  spikes  via the  bait  shop  they hold  up great and  panfish love them  ;D

If you've got 1,000's you should sell some ... about 10 years ago they were going for $3.00 a dozen ....

where I was the crappie wouldn't touch them  Honestly, if It weren't for the extra water weight I would carry minnows instead of the grubs  As I said, maybe for some but not me

perch love them , and they stay on the hook great , #2 bait for perch in my book .can't handle the cold water on my hands prolonged to gettem anymore though

Crappies eat them. Gotta hook them on the correct end and they move around great down there. I keep them in an insulated cooler so they don’t freeze and they stay alive.  They are 4 dollars a dozen where I getm.

I do best with spikes too - some days they seems to like mousies where I fish though ....but most of the the time its spikes .....
