Lindy Rigs
« on: Nov 10, 2006, 11:00 PM »
I was thinking about using a lindy rig through the ice. I  was wondering if anyone else had tried it and if they had success or not. If so how long of a snell did you use? Were you in a lake or a river?

I haven't had much luck with lindy's except in situations were you have current  and have trouble keeping your bait close to bottom. If im targeting walleye and sauger in a location were there is current i will usually put a lindy on one or two tip-ups with floating jig.

Yeah I was thinking they'd be much better in a river with current. Where I normally fish for eyes in the winter the river has enough current so I'll definetly have to give this a try.

I have tried it in a lake using a phelps floater and a minnow with about a 6-8" snell, it worked quite well actually.
